Enjoy live music, arts and craft vendors and traditional folkorico dancers throughout the evening starting at 4PM. Maize will be providing authentic Mexican cuisine, drink, and libations from their food truck and patio bar. The culmination of the event will be the traditional El Grito at 10PM. Alejandra Sandoval-Montañez is a Mexican-American mezzo-soprano, educator, and social media creator. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois under the instruction of bass-baritone Ricardo Herrera. Alejandra’s previous credits include Carnaval!, A Little Night Music (Mrs. Segstrom / Desiree Armfeldt understudy), Edith in Pirates of Penzance, and Lady Angela in Patience. In addition to her work on stage, Alejandra created the Aspiring Opera Singers community: an Instagram/Facebook platform where she shares resources, inspiration, and interviews with leading opera professionals.
